Physically assaulted at The Hague's Kunstmuseum
Today, February 1, 2025, around 2 pm, I, a 28-year-old woman, was physically assaulted at The Hague's Kunstmuseum. Since "The Gran Dessert" exhibition rooms were crowded, people were accidentally bumping into each other. As a consequence, a Dutch woman in her 40s followed me and violently grabbed my left arm from behind while yelling "don't push me", to which I replied "I didn't push you, Miss". She just walked away yelling something in Dutch. Everyone witnessed this and stared at this female visitor with fear after she attacked me. I never pushed her. This situation made me feel so unsafe that I had a panic attack and left the museum immediately. I was the only dark skinned woman in that exhibition, so this felt like a racist attack. I'd visited this museum several times in my 3 years here, but this is the first time I experienced violence by another visitor. I got home and noticed a bruise in my arm after taking off my winter coat. What a shame this happened in such a beautiful and international city like The Hague.

In public, if the other party's behavior is very bad and seriously threatens your personal safety, you can completely use a body camera, or you can turn on the recording of your mobile phone when appropriate to protect yourself and record the bad behavior of those people. If the police do not act, publish these ugly faces in the media to see how shameful the ugly faces of those racists are. At the same time, try to learn to be patient and not respond to racists with violence. Direct confrontation will only allow them to catch you and let the party that should be condemned turn to accuse you. No matter how wrong others are, we should not put ourselves in the same situation, but should remain rational and stick to our own character. Those who really should repent to God are those who spread hatred and create conflicts, not you.
So, be yourself, don't be like those scums who are good at using violence.
